Lol Ming is still around? I'm playing as an OPM Japanese Daimyo right now and it's falling apart before my eyes. Went bankrupt 5 times before the 1500s xaxa. Btw you can roll back to a previous version of EU4 if you want to play older save games. Nice Byzantium. Tried to play it once. No one (literally no one) wanted to ally me - not even like Albania or Serbia - and baguette sent me an insult on day 1. I somehow managed to survive till 1469 cuz the Ottos were getting beaten up by Austria-Hungary, Poland-Lithuania and the Mamluks one after the other. Expanded into Italy and Balkans and was going pretty well although a bit of a slow start. Then somehow the Ottos recover out of nowhere and rush me with a 30k stack :/ No ss though sorry. I'll post for my Japanese Daimyo one. Btw how come your shield glows orange like that? Mine doesn't I've even noticed in Let's Plays on youtube. The shield glows :/ Mine's a legit game from, not cracked. Also stop using your merchants to collect everywhere. Do you know how much money you're wasting?? Divert trade to your home node and collect there. And if you own any end nodes like English Channel, Venice, Genoa, move your main trading port there and collect and transfer trade power there.

I'm a fast expander, and always take the most I can get in a peace deal even if it a fair bit of overextension. I started off as an OPM called Date (pronounced Dattey) and started conquering everyone around me by going above my force limit with mercs and stuff. Started off as a vassal under Ashikaga like all Daimyos do, so didn't even need to fabricate claims. All Daimyos have permanenet CBs against each other - "Sengoku". Dominated Northern Japan, by 1455 and started blobbing in the south. Around 1470 I had truces with all the Japanese Daimyos remaining, they were either too large to take in a single war, or had been my allies with whom I'd broken alliance establishing a 5 year truce. Truces with all except my overlord Ashikaga. So I dow'ed him for the Emperorship of Japan (-3 stab hit and 3 war exhaustion - ouch). I won and my Daimyo allies in the war became my vassals and the Daimyos against me, became free and gave me a CB against them. BUT truces are a bitch, so I started beating up Manchuria and took Exploration as my 1st Idea Group. Got 2 colonies in the Phillipines, 2 in Taiwan, a colonial nation in Alaska, and 2 colonies in Mexico near the natives so I can start beating them up. My favourite part of the game was when the Colonialism Institution spoawned in one of my provinces in Japan. I cheated a bit by going to the lobby to look at Europe (couldn't console command to remove Terra Incognita because Iron Man), wondering what the fuck was going on over there. Turns out, Castille has been half-eaten by Aragon and isn't colonizing, while Portugal seems fine but is not colonizing, at all which makes me think they're in debt or something. So now it's the Europeans who're going to be behind on tech due to the Institutions tech penalty If you're wondering, I'm ahead of time in tech right now because of development spam to get the Renaissance early and an immortal 4/5/5 ruler and his 6/5/6 heir with a weak claim meaning terrible legitimacy, but who cares? xa I chose Date as my Daimyo because it has amazing ideas and traditions and it's why I've not formed Japan yet (turned off the notification for the National Decision to form it). Starting Ideas: Infantry Combat Ability 10% and Diplomatic Reputation +1 When I've unlocked all National Ideas, I get Global Trade Power +15% So far so good. Then we come to the rest of the ideas... 1. Core Creation Cost Reduction -10% 2. Agressive Expansion Impact Reduction -10% 3. Idea Cost Reduction -10% 4. Land Fire Damage +10% 5. Heavy Ship Cost Reduction -5% and Heavy Ship Combat Ability +10% 6. Technology Cost Reduction -5% 7. Development Cost Reduction -10% How good are these ideas am I right?! On May 1, 1508... By the way it says 2nd largest army because the ledger also calculates the troop counts of Rebels. I'm actually the largest.

Move over China... I have like 13 vassals....When you're a Shogunate, your vassals become your Daimyos...and don't take up a relationship slot. It's so fucking OP. Just vassalize everyone, feed provinces to them to core, then diplo-annex them

Are you sure? I have no PU in my Japan game because only Christians get PUs but when I play Europe I always get at least one PU. If you go England by the way you get a mission to force a PU on France. Baguette becomes your attack dog for the rest of the game Ally and RM Muscovy around 1560 while ensuring your prestige and legitimacy is high. You will be very likely to get a PU over them (must be an event chain) because in 3 games I got a PU over Muscovy this way, all 3 times (one of those was as England with a PU over France, so you can guess how OP that was). As Austria, for an easy start, Royal Marriage Bohemia on Day 1 (but DO NOT ALLY). They start off with no heir and your dynasty on their throne. On December 11, use Claim throne CB to force a PU on them. Have Hungary as an ally. When the Hungarian heir turns 9, break alliance with Hungary. Because the heir WILL die when he turns 15 with a regent in charge. Hungary gets an event where they choose to either become a junior partner under Austria (you) or appoint a local noble, which gives you a restoration of union CB on them (which is why you broke alliance five years before so that the truce timer ran out).

That's only for Austria and England. Event PUs are obviously an easy way to get them, but factions like Byzantium don't get any, yet still people shit out PU's as easily as they vassalize Navarra or something.

I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO VASSALIZE NAVARRA!! WHETHER AS CASTILLE OR ARAGON OR ENGLAND OR FRANCE SOMEONE CONQUERS OR VASSALIZES THEM FIRST, OR THEY'RE JUST NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT! By the way the Muscovy thing is valid as any country (I think). I did it as England, France, and Brandenburg.

If I have high prestige I lose legitimacy whenever I make a royal marriage... nevertheless I do have high prestige and legitimacy all the time and still no dynasty on anyone even if I do get my dynasty somewhere they just get a legitimate heir.

You have to be lucky and predict dynastic changes. I've got 2 PUs on Muscovy in two separate games, one as Theodro and one as Trezibond. Both were around 1450.
