Turkish people gone stupid once again and delivered absolute, dictatorial power to a close-minded retarded (clichê) turk called Erdogan who just plunged his country once again in the shithole.
Referendum was rigged obviously, they admitted votes that didn't have the official seal and shit at last minute, shameful

you're an idiot. although the american presidential system is flawed, erdogan is effectively a religious dictator by now, as he controls the executive, legislative and judicative, thus america isnt anywhere near comparable.

Tito you do realize that the "No" size was virtually prevented from campaigning at all right? Selahattin Demirtas (co-leader of a pro-kurdish party), who would have been a vocal critic of the referendum, is instead i jail, like thousands of others, on trumped up charges. He faces 142 years in prison. A Kurdish-language song calling for No has been banned. A study of 168.5 hours of campaign coverage on 17 national television channels at the start of March showed that Yes supporters got 90% of the airtime. The route from Sabiha Gokcen airport, outside Istanbul, has more than a dozen building-sized banners with an image of the president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, or his prime minister extolling a Yes vote. Giant No banners are nowhere to be seen. Considering the "No"'s had about 48% t Erdogans 51%, it shows just how decisive these new changes are.

These amendments are the largest changes to Turkeys political history since Ataturk euthanized the Caliphate. America's presidential system has a series of checks and balances- turkey's does not. An elected dictator is still a dictator. Erdogan is hardly a President, he is a Sultan. He allowed radical Islamist to flow freely across turkey's borders and only decided to intervene after the Kurds began beatign the Islamist back. Last July, secularist (and Gulenist) attempted to oust him from power.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who doesn't wish they succeeded. At least the military always returned power back to the people. Erdogan will only keep it.

Add something else....
TRUMP IS CONTROLLED by his own party. Republicans didn't let Trump do stupid things. Trump can act independently in some things but not at majority. There is a congress different opinions and blocks around the Republican Party with whom Trump needs to negotiate.Thats a real democracy.......
Turkey's case is different. There is no important party leaders except Erdogan ofc, electoral fraud, imprisoning of opposition.Opposition says that 1.6 million votes were changed.......

I don't know about turkish TV, but turks were posting 'no' all over the social media and paraded streets, never saw 'yes' movement in reality. The force of 'no' movement was bigger than some propaganda, and yet, 'yes' movement won.

Maybe popularity, but i don't know about power (geopolitically). Or you mean power in the country, which again i doubt as Trump is a businessman before politician with $4 billion in the bank.

Tarafından yazıldı Metyu, 17.04.2017 at 13:42

That's chronically false fact which people used to ignore and not question;

Courts and media can never be free as long they get money from the State to operate and work. US judges recieve salaries from State Budget and will never be independent. Same with media (read about legalized media prostitution), they cannot advance in the career if they don't report government ordered articles, like genocides, bombings, regimes, dictators. Everyone already realize that their all media report not only the same story, but use same text and pictures, because it comes form the same source.

Tarafından yazıldı Metyu, 17.04.2017 at 13:42

That's normal, elected politician choose other politicians to form a govenrment, then they choose judges and administrators in the country, it works in every democracy that way. You can't complain about that. That's not dictatorship. Even in America elected government choose their own judges and administrators. But i don't like to use America as example because they have only 2 parties, so same people do politiics for decades, better use Germany as example (large economy, medium country, medium population). You can't imagine how much German government interfere in German economy and they are successful (even evaded 2008 crisis, became richer), and you won't see German corporations exercising power like American one, because they are regulated by the government.

Same in every country when reporters reject orders from the government to post their stories. Don't think it's different in Germany, France, America, UK.

Ah sorry then, i thought it doesn't matter if you are 'coastal big civilized city' or mainland backwarded village, well, that's exactly why 'yes' won.

All the Europeans are appaled by the referendum's result and openly critical of Erdogan, as they should be. They openly urge him to start investigations and are quite critical.

Meanwhile the orange monkey Trump who sold out every single American who voted for him, proves he is going to be the worst President in the history of the United States, by calling Erdogan and congratulating him.

That's my point, the government that Obama tried to protect was forcing Islam as a law in Egypt. it does'nt mean that he believe in that shit it means that he thought that this USA's best interest.

Same as Trump, both America and Europe gonna have to cooperate and work with Turkey. you can't condemm everything that they do now and expect them to do things for you.

Well, Obama was too much of a political correct character... BUT, wasn't Trump supposed to do the exact opposite, be a politically incorrect president and be all that honest, ethical, etc? (read it as a curious cuestion, not a personal attack)

The main arguement against political correctness is that it opposes realism. Therefore I don't see how congratulating Ergdoan is politiclly correct.
