You see superpower an almost bankrupt nation with a lot of society problems which survives thanks to oil and gold.

You are the one who doesn't understand that without economy military is shit. In case of war poor countries like Russia or India could not survive long time.

You are the one who doesn't understand that without economy military is shit. In case of war poor countries like Russia or India could not survive long time.

We are not talking about war...but about achieving geopolitical victories. Superpowers doesn't need to start wars to win. That's the whole point of playing geopolitics, to avoid bloodshed like WW2 because some countries are so big and powerful it can't be destroyed with violence.

Russia is poor with cash, but rich with resources and in wartime, cash is insignificant, you need resources, so Russia is rich in war, poor in peace. Russia is one of the rare - if not the only country - that can wage wars because of availability of resources and skilled manpower who have 1-2 years of military training (30 million males from 20 to 50 age).

Countries that have cash but no resources are doomed in war, like Japan or Germany as their money won't buy them fuel and iron to build tanks, submarines and planes, they will become crippled.

China is nowhere near the US............for now
