Before all, hat down to Sun Tzu who's still being around and taking some actions in areas which he can cover; as his good friend, I don't understand where he finds a single sign of motivation for doing anything about improving this game. #respect

This game won't die, beacuse of the one single thing called - memories. I may seem heavy retarded, but you might find yourself in this too - Sometimes I came here just to read old good argues and topics or to see are there any old guys back, at least to have a little chat with them becuase, honestly, even tho this is virtual game, I miss some of lads from here. I even started missing fucking Pavle and I admit that I regret my feelingless behaviour to him. This game has lost it's soul. And it will never again be the good old atWar as before. Yes, it sounds very pathetic and it is. Even if those 2 lying brothers come back with the best map editor ever or bunch of new starts or upgrades, they will never again bring back the old soul of this game and that soul were we - loyal players who are here at least 2+ years and who gone with this game through it's best and it's worst. Especially those ones who are still here from it's beggining.

If you don't understand what I'm talking about (inb4 Zenith goes on fire), you will realize it very soon, if you already didn't.
I see plenty of us slowly stopped playing, because every action (read no-action as in Admins case) has it's reaction. And the most understanding reaction is getting rid of this. Let me now mention just several guys, excuse me if I forgot someone, who are slowly going inactive or who have already gone inactive in last year as Mauzer, Eagle, Zone, El Creyente, Laochra, Ferlucci, Goblin, Eagles, Gonzo, Panteri, Steve, Njab, Soldier, Heat, Dino, Plato, Time, Prome, Nick, Nero, Bossko, Devil, Acqui, Innate, Flume, Dbacks, Rayan, Vale, Stryko, Desu, Raul, Meester, Sultan, Mou, Hellraiser, Phoenix, V-dog, joed, Freeland, Royal, Godenkind, Invisible, Google Chrome, Waffel, Here, Tact, FFLeo, Domo, Bounty, Buffalo Soldier, Richt, Tirpitz, Checkmate, Khal, Skend, Lord Pontez, myself and bunch of others + guys from scenarios and RPs as Viruslegion, Tunder, Aetius..... (sorry for not mentioning the rest, I'm not as introduced at your scene). Also, I don't even want to mention the list of the old guys as Tik Tok, Tito, Unleashed, ZeroUno, Paolo, Funtime, Autumn. Pinheiro, Hdrakon....

Can you see now what I am trying to tell you... Just look on that list and that guys... I think the only ones who still play this actively are clovis, opi, ce, ghostface and klevis. For next season I predict 2 clans competing for medals, guess which ones. Even forums became uninteresting, for which I thought that they're gonna be interesting forever.... I guess I was wrong. Only 2-3 fun screenshots per week are still being interesting, even it's becoming useless without above mentioned people.

Now you can realize how all those 'negative' things became the only positive ones on this game. This feeling sucks.... as the whole game... I mean, as those 2 brothers. No, this is not insult, this is pure fact, they suck. And they are liars. THE FACT. Not an insult. Calling them only liars is very gently from me.

PS. Seriously, how about organising some big anniversary meetup of us in game to do one world game or some flamewar in forum in next few months?

I agree. Im not active croat, im semi active, i only play sometimes cuz of small cockroaches who think they're best aw players and say theyre better than me .Im the type of guy who goes back to memories. Memories such as when there were 4-5 3v3s at once, 2-3 cws being played and people still asking for cws, a time where asking for "rank match " was normal and understandable even though evol cwed everyone every rank whuch was amazing, a time where there was real competition even when "UN cancer map " was popular.

I agree when u say 2 clans compete for medals its aristo and epic, but even with epic its hard to get a cw since when im at work on my office and refuse cw, clovis has to refuse 10 next cw requests and even when he wants to cw he asks for rank match.

The only semi-alive clan that i like and respect is MK. Always was a stable clan and always op, never have i ever seen any mk player ask for rank match or force us to play their map or settings.

Downfall started with html tbh , so many players quit , even i was about to. But it also RL thing. People grow and they have to deal with more thungs in real life such as work career school family ect so not everyone has enough time for aw like before (speaking of old players) , but this is not an exuse for aw downfall since we can get new players but there is none.

This is true. I've played other games but atwar is unusual in the pull it has had on me. I can see this was the same for others. I think it was due to the size of the community, particularly the competitive part. We all got to know each other. It's such a random mix of different personalities cultures etc.

Time and again we quit with the intention to leave it behind but return because of the fun we had here. The attempt attempt to reboot illy over the summer was just that again for me joe and aqui etc. Sadly the reality didn't live up to the memory.

I don;t attribute all this to Ivan and amok, my own interest in aw began to decline before html with the original disbanding of illyria. SM managed to make it fun for me again but that wasn't to last. But thats just an RL thing as commando says. We all move on. I don't know whether i'll come back or not. For now though i guess ill just continue to troll the forums with stupid posts.

don't worry, soon king obama is going to start a nuclear war with russia and anyone living within 200km of a city will meet a real afterwind. Funny enough atwar servers will probably survive since they are in the middle of nowhere in an ethiopian village

On topic: putting the argue aside I agree that memories are what connect us here. Sometimes I look into the past where I had such a great duels with opi, Eagles, Plato, Critical (not sure how did you forgot him ), njab, aqollo, Pontez, Fer, Zone, even more past than that (NateBaller, Pera, tophat himself). I started to lose interest into the game once I reached the top ELO score, not because there wasn't competition, but because it wasn't interesting to play at all.

Then EC went full on CWs and along with ENIGMA grave atWar what is, perhaps, the most active CW season ever. When I look at all that I of course miss it. To quote Putin though, "Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain". Old players must die if we want to give an opportunity to the new generation of players.

But I'm not too proud of them either. In my opinion, the average skill level in competitions has been lowered despite more knowledge being available in public. Servers also strongly discourage players from setting into this game.

There haven't been any successful tournament since June either ( 4+ months).

Whatever have to happen, let it be. I'll leave this quote from such an old player as MOU is, as it describes my feel about atWar atm (despite I didn't valued the comment when he made it). Even if I were to stop playing, I'll never forget all the friends, fun and memories that I made here.

And that's the point i'm trying to make. Be grateful for what atwar has already done for you, and what it continues to do. Some of the stuff I have seen from these map makers and competitive players is really cringe worthy. If you don't like it leave like I did and don't complain. Thank the people who provided you with years of entertainment. There's no reason to complain about something everyones aware of. Be thankful atwar is here to log on to. If the admins gave up, there wont be any server crashes... That's cause there wont be any servers period.

I've tried to cheer myself into being active once again, but it's been useless. I find it hard to recover that thrill I once had and having to stand how the game reconects every three minutes doesn't help. This game got me hooked quite badly and my friends made it even worse. Now, here I am, talking like an old granpa about all his lost comrades from past wars haha there's no way to bring back that past unfortunately but I still got the forums to check for news from time to time since I still love our old fags, active or not

I wonder if by just staying in the game will I ever become some sort of legend

I hope you understand that the cuban missile crisis was a single isolated event and to categorise the entire "cold war" as any more dangerous than today is a silly if not down right ignorant claim.

The democrats are poking the bear right now with cyberwarfare and a upcoming no-fly zone in syria. If attacking russian airplanes and infrastructure is not a declaration of war then nothing short of a land invasion will be.

I have a lot of nostalgia from earlier years and even from last season, its quite a shame that atwar is unplayable and will die.

Also this game is already dying for the last few years. Not since html, but even before. People don't see the point anymore of playing a game like this. The fights and arguing is what made it fun for me to stay in here, the sometimes getting shocked how retarded some people really could be, and actually feeling sorry for them was more enjoyable than boring 3v3 games that last 3 turns.

This game always had people comming back and going away, but I think this time this site wont last till 2017, so try getting people's fb's/skypes/steams/ whatever social media platform to ''stay in touch'' with your friends .

I think because autumn started so people are more strained on time but some went inactive permanently aswell no doubt.
But yeah it wasnt competetion like it was before ... now there are only aristos and ionia actively daily like us left to cw..
