Hello AtWar.

My name is Gard, and this is my thread dedicated to figuring out a way for me to enjoy playing AtWar again. Yes yes, I've been a total and utter whiny bitch ever since I set foot on this game in 2010, but hey, when have you ever seen me in-game? Exactly. I don't know why I personally never like to play, but I sincerely want to now. Will it be worth it? I'd like to also get going on the maps I've promised over the past few months (I stopped working when the Crashes and Tunderb&s started), so is anyone interested in laughing at me trying to play, and supporting my ever-increasing cartography love and skills? Or should I just, y'know, stay in Off-Topic and keep shitposting whenever possible?

To Mods: I felt this belonged in GenDisc, due to it being about AtWar, but if you feel it's more Off-Topic, I'll be more than happy to move it over there.

Still competitive. Competitive is when teams or players are balanced. Both have chances to win, and players aren't unskilled.

ppl dont cw on world maps because its quite hard for 4+ people to have 4 hours to spare to play a cw.

ppl however, do play eurasia cws, although they can quite often become long games too.

Wrong, World game is just not balanced. there would have to be set rules such as each continent needs a balanced number of players to make it fair and even then, which ever team gets 2 of the three continents wins.

Nah, it's like Europe+ but bigger. Anyways, you pick where you want to pick. It's up to you where you pick.
If the map is "unbalanced" (even though it isn't), it can still be competitive.

To increase your skill, I reccomend playing LoN and UN and roleplays. 3v3 is just for SP farming, mods should ban it.

WW2 is not balanced nor competitive at all. They are made by bad players, that's the only proof I can give because mostly people will make bullshit or disagree with me xD

fun is the reason why you play this, some can only have fun by winning something (you probably)
others have fun playing something different, and maybe a bit unbalanced, they don't have to win...
well, i mostly want to win, but i don't need to win, to have fun.

i don't know who you mean with 'bad players', are unleashed, tito and SQUARRED all 'bad players'? i think i once saw Aquise in an WW2 too...

and look at it this way: WW2 can be played like a world game too...

EDIT: secretly i like scenarios because they are easier to win than normal europe FFAs (2 vs 5) and 3 vs 3s with 7 rank limit

Also, the "walls" are just autistic. The city walls I mean. They shouldn't be put there, AW does not work like that :S

To the off topic posters: Im not a real fan of scenario's but you can't just go and group them ALL as being bad and for noobs, some are well done and actually fun (not talking about UN) . 3v3 isn't the perfectly balanced as you might think but I still play it because its fun and competitive. Its fun to win when chances are equal and its even more fun to win when the chances aren't in your favor, so in a way perfect balance is boring and the odds being tipped to one side's favor is sometimes more fun. You should play to have (for the millionth time i say this) fun. Start being more open minded people.

well, i mean ultimate WWII, it's fun to play that and it's quite balanced, even though the team thing you sayed is true, i once saw a russia winning against germany but then china died, you should give it a try

well, the walls are there to save time, wich is quite good, as the first turn in scenarios is like the second turn as Ukraine...
but seriosly, i always replace these expansive inf walls with milita walls xD

btw: some scenarios are a good way of bringing noobs in the competitive range, i once played some un games too ...but then i discovered (as a rank 5 or so) the fun of WW1s and europe+, then i became a quite good rank 7 and then i stoped playing europe+'s for a while and became as "meh" skilled as i am today
