Macedonia in Ancient 2vs2 CW

We've been having some ancient CWs recently and I always find some discrepancies in regards of the game settings. No sea wall seems to be a quite universal rule (albeit, some players argues that it's fine as long as one of the units is in-land).

Macedonia in 1vs1 is quite a powerful country (strongest units in the game, cheap, 12 reinforcements) and generally agreed to not be picked. In 2vs2 however, I've found that some players (or clans) allows it while other does not. I wonder what's the community's opinions on the matter.

Well, uk is allowed in 2v2's/3v3's aswell, although its extremely powerful and a little imbalanced

Bla, cry me a river suckas. If mace is not allowed to be picked, then sparta shouldn't be picked either because it has the same elite unit as mace but with a different name. Just learn to counter

Lol RB, u do understand the difference between 12 inf + 12 reinf compared to 8 Inf + 9-10 reinf ?

imo Mace only pickable in 3v3 because its central position is compensating its OP T1, for 1v1 and 2v2 it is too cheap compared to its power T1 (u can basically out-rush anyone anywhere,everywhere). If it was same price as Syria for instance, maybe ok, but pb is its specials are way too OP and u can spam 12 of them...)

Well, once Mace is out, Sparta is the only country to be in the centre, has nice 8 reinf, which can be turned into 8 op spartan elite units since it is cheap as fuck and has range enough to reach any region it wants. So op as well, ban.

If you can't out rush him, simply don't try to?

For me Mace in Ancient 10K is a lot like Serbia 3k xtras it is definitely beatable... if he's a narb

Sparta Elites are better only for Zerg rushes, so pretty much T1 and the remaining ones for T2-3

Bottom line is, do u think there is a pick that is obviously better? If 2 players equivalent skills play, does it give a significant advantage to the one picking Mace? Like I said why do u think Eur+ 3k is widely considered as narb duel? Because Serbia is OP. Same story for Mace in Ancient 10K

(I just dueled JF, him as mace, I played Sparta, we tied cause he was able to make a wall around Sparta with my wf unit as far as 1 mm away from the necesary distance........I had that duel!!!! He was fucking cornered!)

That's why I hate you so much right now... the rage.... omg WHY!

Back to the topic, i agree Macedonia is far stronger than any other pick in 10k games for the above mentioned reasons: cheap, best units, perfect location with reach to best unit places and strong economic places. It is much more op than uk in eu+. Thats why i dont want it as a pick in my duels. (I sometimes give it to non premiums, but thats another story.) Therefore it makes a lot of sense to ban Macedonia for picking not only in duels, but also in 2v2 games. Maybe in 3v3 games it's a different story.

Who cares, its shit map
