Utimate Maps: Ban list Discussion

Two high rank banned players played Ultimate WW2 together 5 days ago. I have recieved no Screenshot of the admin who allowed them to play nor a single complaint or evidence of them doing so. These two specific players have Left, Wallbroke and trolled multiple times and been given numerous warnings. The rules are clear, if a screen shot of the Admin is not given, the community will be punished. I have unpublished for over two weeks before and I am more than willing to unpublish for one week for each banned player allowed to play.

If an admin allows a banned player to play, you screenshot and I shall punish the admin and not the community. If a banned player creates a Ultimate WWII, WWI game, you screenshot those who played the game and the Admin. I will not punish the collective if this is done. If it isn't, you will ALL be punished.

On numerous occasions, as we all know, we spend a large amount of time for a game to fill up. These two players have happily ruined games on these occasions and done so many times. That is why they are banned. They have not apologized for this, they do not care about you or the community. So why do you not screenshot these incidents? I have a probation section for those who were banned but were forgiven on the condition that if they ever broke the rules again, their ban would be permanent and I would be vindictive in making sure they never played again.

I am fair and on occasions where I am not, I myself have apologized and rectified my mistakes. Now I am left with a conundrum. I should unpublish for two weeks. I am more than willing to but I shall give the community one last single chance to get this right. Perhaps I was not clear enough on rules and administrative responsibilities.

The rules are clear.

1) No wallbreaking on first turn.
Wallbreaking is placing units near enemy walls to prevent them connecting. This is instant permanent ban. This is fine after the first turn, it's a good tactic but on first turn it is illegal and I will not tolerate it. There is no excuse for it.

2) Do not enter enemy territory on first turn.
This is a pretty simple rule. This can sometimes be difficult with close frontlines so be respectful to your fellow player and just move your lines a little further away from eachothers borders. Areas like the Russian, Burmese, British, Egyptian and Chinese fronts are common problems of this. Just be polite and be aware of where they will wall and try to give eachother a little space. Tunder and I as Japan and China have never had an issue with this despite a literal spaghetti junction of walls because we are mindful of eachothers territories and try to respect eachothers first move defensive positions.

3) No Leaving.
My map/scenarios require at least 5 minute turns and on average last 20 turns. This means a game is likely to last up to at least 2 hours. If you are not prepared for this, do not play. If you leave, you will be screenshotted by fellow players who will report to me and I shall either ban you or place you on probation. I wont take excuses for this like ''I have a haircut'' or ''I needed to go out, I have a life'' then why are you here wasting our time? Dont play. I will listen to your reasons but if they are not sufficient, you will be banned or placed on probation. If a game is clearly lost, then leaving isn't an issue. The best people to ask are your Allies if they believe victory can still be attained. If a loss is sure and the enemy would prefer you leave, you have a choice to stay or go. There is no rule forcing you to leave but be polite to your fellow players wishes.

4) Trolling.
This doesnt require a rule because there are too many to suggest. Examples are taking allied territory, going afk, pretending to play terribly, making ''peace'' with the enemy team etc. This isn't allowed and it will lead to a ban. You know what trolling is, it doesnt need to be highlighted.

Irresponsible Admins

If an Admin allows a Banned player to play. Screenshot it. Before this, at least point out to the Admin that a Banned player is attempting to play. Work together, keep an eye on the Banned Players list and report these people. Players are banned for ruining YOUR games and YOUR time. If an admin still allows a banned player to play, screenshot them and I wont punish the community. If a screenshot is not made of the Admin and I find this player has played without protest, I will unpublish all my maps for a period of time. I do this to incentivize a good community working together to prevent our games being ruined. If this punishment isn't used, then there is no incentive to enforce the rules. I don't like doing it but it's the only way. It's for your own good.

A tip for Admins. If a player who is banned continually enters the game despite consistent kicking. Screenshot and /report to Moderators or report to me and I shall send them to Mods. This still isn't an excuse to let them play. Kick them before you start.

These are rules made to create good games worth waiting for. If we work together to kick out the trolls, we can play some good games that make it worth a mapmakers time to create more. I have made this thread to promote discussion on this issue and to warn the community that I do check games and player list to make sure rules are followed. Sometimes I am not online but that doesnt mean Im not using a guest or alt account to spectate. I also have many players who will screenshot and who will report to me.

I would also suggest that other mapmakers create their own ban lists and I am more than willing to teach you how.

I hope this has illuminated any issues people might have. I also hope that people understand why this is done. The post below will, in future, explain why the maps are unpublished and for what period of time. I will forgive this one occasion where these two banned players were allowed to play but I wont tolerate it again. If banned players attempt to play, it is because they want me to punish you. Remember that. They will force my hand so for your interest, just report the Admin who lets them play and I shall talk to them.

Edit: ''My account was hacked'' or ''It was my little brother playing'' isn't reasonable excuse. If it was hacked, you will need to prove that and ask a Mod to confirm. If you let someone else play on your behalf, you alone are responsible for that account.

Edit- Falsified screencaps or purposeful admin swapping to lead blame to other players will not be tolerated. Admin failure will be investigated properly and if falsified information is given, there will be consequences for your account on Ultimate maps.

I was highlighting this and giving the community a second chance and to prevent an unpublish. This is a discussion on the Ban list and a way of telling more people that we cna work together to prevent trolls ruining our games. It is a General Discussion topic.

I am new here, please excuse my confusion; do 'the rules' and 'penalties' you reference apply to every game, everywhere, every time, or just specific games? The rules I reference, specifically: 'wallbreaking', 'entering' and 'leaving'.

Rollo, those are just frowned upon in other games, but Tik-Tok makes these rules in his scenario.

i agree with that, but i think that some people just forgot, they gotta do something or maybe their mom just tells them to come to dinner.
btw. i never left a WW2 game...yet

Edits made. Collective Punishment averted due to Admins reported and the banned player in question has been spoken to. He will be given a chance to redeem himself if he stops attempting to play Ultimate Maps for a week and after that period of time, apologizes for previous behaviour which involved multiple wallbreaking, leaving and general trolling. The player will be forgiven and placed on Probation.

If this player attempts to play during this time, his ban will be more than permanent. This is a 4th chance for redemption. I rarely give one. This is due to the player being an amateur when they broke the rules and is more experienced now. That isnt always an excuse, it is a special request.

Quitting games may avoid them coming up on your profiles game list but people will continue to report if you are playing. If you are banned and you wish to redeem yourself, you can try. You only have to talk to me and address the reasons why you were banned but if you continue to try and avoid your ban, I will take extra special attention to catch you and punish those who aid you.

This is a system to create good game content and if you continue to undermine that. I will simply punish those around you. Just come clean, address what you did and promise not to do it again but I have zero tolerance on those who get second chances and break them.

Anywhay how are you going to deal with banned players hosting a Ultimate ww2, Ultimate ww1, etc.

It's simple. Someone will notice (hopefully) that the host is banned, then they will announce that on chat and refuse to play. Everyone should then leave and someone can remake, without the banned player. This is what happened when WoocheanChan tried to host. We remade without him. And this surprised me, because I expected nobody giving a fuck and playing on. Nice.

I did saw a ultimate ww1 filling up with banned players and a banned host, conspiracy?!
there were also regular players not caring about the ban list, i pretty much forgot all the names though and i was going to bed, with Tik-Tok not online and me being to sleepy to think i forgot the next day to report it.
