Game bugged after ending turn and re-connecting

I'm playing a casual game on the Epic Ancient World map. On my current turn (13), I made most of my moves and pressed End Turn. I went back to the game a few hours later to try to make a few additional moves I forgot to do (the turn was still not over), but found the game to have frozen. On both the browser-based and stand-alone program none of the buttons are responsive (not even exit) and I can't even zoom or click on units. The stand-alone actually freezes up so that I have to shut down the program and re-start it.

I'm guessing the issue will resolve itself once the turn ends...

EDIT: The issue did resolve itself after the turn ended. I can now log into the game (turn 15) and issue commands and save them after having ended my turn. Still, an odd bug...
