Fun facts:

This took two hours to write in the forum, 1 year in notepad.
I've based my opinion mainly on my own experiences, not others, but some.
Only 10% who see my wall of text will read it 100% through on the first try.

We need a differentiation between gas-operated and recoil-operated firearms much more than any of these suggestions.

The weapons used in combat is not specified- your comment makes absolutely no sense, sorry.

There is one point I liked - the whole 'project' thing. I don't know if you played Civilization 4 but there were these events that happened every so often which you could either ignore, spend a bit of money and get some benefit or spend a lot and get a lot of benefit. There were also things like 'take x city for y benefit'. Stuff like that would really spice up the game.

However, in most afterwind games random units are turned off because it can make or break a game (Take a players cap, find 10 mecha infantry. GOODBYE). However events depend on investing money for benefits or completing objectives so it's not just a freebee as random units are but an investment.

Any project-based system for the development of random units would require significant amounts of money, thereby making regions like Asia - which often fall into one player's control - even more ridiculously dominant as they would be the only entities capable of financing these projects.

Then why not just nerf asia a little bit?

It used to be about 12 times longer than this, so yes, it is very brief.

What about trading with neutral countries (when added with your resource idea)? Like trading x resource for y resource or for money.

I've brought up a similar feature for countries before, Ivan pretty much said something like this in the long run isn't worth it. Although I still think it would be a great idea for a trading system or an economy tab like you said.

Sorry for the late reaction, i just see this post now. I like your post and i have to say that i agree with a lot of the points you are talking about. However, i will respond to the points that i see from another point of view. Mostly about your first part of the story, as i like most of the ideas.

Tarafından yazıldı Garde, 10.12.2011 at 22:52

This principle still exists in form today- to all those clans with "training coalitions"- why do you need to have a separate clan for the lower ranks? if they are part of your brotherhood, then why do they need approval to join the mother clan? What comes to mind is hypocrites, but I cannot make other peoples decisions for them. If I did, the game would be a lot worse (pun intended).

To respond at this (as i feel addressed): We did create a second coalition, and the reason why is on our coalition page. Its not because we don't want players in our own coalition, its about the possibility of playing more CWs and not having 'first picks'. You let players in your coalition witch will never play (so why are they in the coalition?). Everyone within our coalition(s) can play. We are just one of the few (maybe the only) coalitions who can say that. Also: Second coalitions will bring more activity to the coalition ranking as a whole, so i don't see why it should be removed.

Tarafından yazıldı Garde, 10.12.2011 at 22:52

Trolls are also a problem with the community- at least 25% of all coalitions are in some way bent or based on the art of trolling. [.....] The easiest and quickest way, is to just not entice or respond to them. If they still talk about you behind your back, getting a moderator is a great choice of action.

Trolls are a problem, yes. But not 25% is a troll. I think its more like 5%, but it looks like 25 because the trolls are very active most of times. If you have any problem, there are enough Mods that can help you out with that. But we need more 'exact' information, not just "he joined my game and attacked me", witch we hear serval times. Its all in the game, only when someone is continues ruining your game or starts to swear, there is a reason to complain.

Tarafından yazıldı Garde, 10.12.2011 at 22:52

[....] What I mean here, is that every imaginative person is shunned for their ideas and beliefs. Instead of simply correcting the person in a nice manner, mods will lock their threads, trolls will quote their opinions, and normals will laugh at their ideas. Why? Why can't you just help them out? "help" seems to be an unused verb here people! Honest to god, your not helping someone by beating them to a pulp with internet memes, your just driving them away from the game and away from life!

I am one of the mods that have changed one of your forum messages. And it was not because it was a 'nice' message that i could ask you 'nicely' to remove. It was a insult to some religions and i changed your message when i got complains about it from serval other players. It was not just a opinion that could be seen as harsh, it was no opinion at all and just a message to insult others. I did not remove your post or locked the thread, i just changed your post, removed the insulting part and informed you about it in a PM. After that you raged against me. That raging isn't really helping, and next time i get complains about your post, i will remove them without warning. Now you know why.

Tarafından yazıldı Garde, 10.12.2011 at 22:52

Sure, constructive criticism is always fine- just as long as you remind yourself to be polite, give a good argument, and remain on this persons good side. [....]

Exactly. Now, start to be polite yourself and i'm sure you will see that most players/mods are polite towards you.

I took the time to read all your story because i know it must have been a lot of work. Then i post a comment in witch I say that its a nice post and i respond (as one of the few) on some of points that i don't agree with. And that is what make mods horrid? Then i'm sorry we don't meet your requirements for a mod.

The fact that i should have been aware of you being not around (your words), sounds very arrogant. Many players go on and off and some of them are away for a longer period. Offcource i don't know the activity of every single player.

I don't understand why you start to rage again, you also could have responded on the context of my post. You didn't reply on anything i said and you are just mad and start to take is off-topic with rude comments and no good argumentation. Why? It messes up your post as a whole. Therefor: If you have problems with me, send me a PM. If you want to respond on the content of my post, place it here.

--EDIT--
It looks like a other mod has deleted your post, witch i can understand (and probably i should have done it too). This message was in a reply. Please keep this threat on-topic, or i will close it.

Also bye aka gardevoir is the most influenchel person on afterwind that is not a mod, you all need to listen to him because he is the best player and creator, a gaming corporation asked him to dewsign a game for them. you guys are missing out on the best thing to this game. he is the answer, BUT you missedyour chance, he is not coming back, (YOBA FUCK YOU) but then again he is hooked on this game like someone on crack. so he will be back he always is.

Yes, everyone knows mods are killing the game. Well, since we're all in agreement on that, not much more to add to this thread.
