I've been accused by more than one person of exploiting a wall glitch, where the wall to a city works with a unit right next to it. I'm not sure on what causes it, maybe someone has already worked it out... but I have an idea, and if it's correct, it might not even be considered a glitch. But either way, I think it should be talked about. I don't want to play a game where it happens, then people bitch about it afterwards.

Now I'm pretty sure this doesn't happen with a wall that's already there, unless the units are replaced. Usually it happens with walls that are made from units from other places... but I think the point (only half the equation) is movement of the units, rather than them being new units for the wall, as some have suggested. Also, bear in mind that, at least for me, moving a unit near but not attacking a wall that's already made does not wf it... this doesn't seem to be true of other player's marines on my walls tho, which i haven't been able to repeat myself

So walls aren't always meant to break with a unit near them - Maybe it comes down to the offensive / defensive action of the units in question. A unit just moved near a wall without attacking has not yet been on the offensive... where as a unit that has attacked and survived has... or if a unit is there already, then walling near it doesnt work for the same reason... but ( the second half of the equation) attacking / turnblocking a unit thats already there puts it on the "defensive" so to speak... then if you move your units near the wall, just as you would to rejoin a wall that hasnt connected, works.

It's just a hypothesis, and i probably haven't described it that great... but if so, it might not be a glitch, it might in fact be the same mechanics that stop a unit moved near a made wall from blocking it. If it's correct, it might be a little complicated, but really it just makes it easy once you know what you're dealing with - your wfing just has to be active, which means replacing wfing units, which I also do anyway.

tl;dr - failed attack on wf unit + rewalling = legitimate wall, maybe.

Just to make a point.. it doesn't need the idea of units being tracked or having memory to if they were on the offensive or defensive. Walls are often made during the battle phase/after you've clicked the button... the wall could just be accepted whie the wf unit is being attacked during this time.
