it is a free rank room, they are allowed to play in main, so they should be allowed to speak in main.

I thought it was to avoid guests to talk on main and begginers lobby. In that case, I second FumbDuck's observation.

Sure and then newbs won't have anyone to help them solve things they are confused with, then leave the game.

They could still use the game chat, which is where most doubts appear anyway.

Also, how many [true] guest accounts do you see using the room chat?

It should not be allowed to return.
You can join to afterwind as guest or make an account really fast.
This isnt going to stop trolls, but is going to delay they, if they want troll they need first one account of level 4.

not allowing them to join games would totally remove the point of guest games and referrals

to be honest, thinking this through again, i'm against all of this, there is no reason why we should limit guests or low ranks to any of the games features, it's not very welcoming.

Yes, there are trolls, but why should we limit every guest and beginner just because a few idiots decide to ruin the fun. And anyway, there is a mute button for a reason, use it.

True, it is just very annoying when a guest joins during a scenario and the host doesn't kick them when they pick an important role. But yeah, you've changed my mind atleast.

Actually, as a noob (who has finished his beer), my biggest concern is to NOT pick the important role. I totally get that I am still learning the game system, strategies and tactics. I don't want to ruin the game for others because I don't have the skills needed to be a challenging opponent. It is not fair to my allies or to the enemy.

So far, I have attempted to select "spoiler" roles. Countries that are not in the main action but can be a critical part of success or failure. New Zealand in a world game. Iceland in a Europe game. Enough that I can be a good ally or a annoying enemy of a larger player but not so much that I throw the game to one side or the other.

Anyway, the more obstacles placed in the path of noobs becoming good players, the slower the game community will develop. Everyone was a noob once, the key is to select the noobs that will grow into better players and ignore the ones that will never figure out how to play worth beans.

Banning guests and beginners from the main room is a terrible idea. If you're sick of Guest chat being abused (and I assume you're talking mostly about hdrakon when you say this?) then the mods could continue to play whack-a-mole with his guest accounts rather than labelling everyone under rank 4 as potential members of hdrakons guest clone army.

Banning them is the easier choice but it certainly isn't the right one.

If your problem is, that some trolls use guest access to continue their trolling you should complain about the current moderators not doing their "work". You would be better off to post in that "we need more mods" topic or open a truly appreciated "we need to replace current mods with better ones" topic. Banning guests and especially beginners from the chat isn't the right way to deal with this.

Thanks for the information captain obvious, but there are still a lot of providers in a lot of countries that offer only static IP. Also that is why I also suggested a MAC ban, however, I don't know if that would be possible to implement.
I will stop to complain about mods in this topic, when you stop to complain about new players and guests. Your arguement just was invalid, you can't say "just ban all beginners and guests from chat" and justify it with "the mods cba to deal with it anymore".

I wanted beginners out of main room chat, now i want they out of main.
In one game a begginer was suiciding all troops in my country and my country was conquered for that by other player.
And he wasnt ally of anyone, he was just used by the other player, and then killed.
